I had the opportunity to photograph a corporate event recently, Tyson Shareholders Meeting. From my understanding, this was the second one in a week, this meeting focused on proposals and shareholders voting. I'm not going to begin to relate what went on, for details on the meeting see Tyson's website and Arkansas Online.
Have you ever been in a group of people and feel very humbled to be in their presence? Even though I've photographed Tyson Salescon several times to have the top executives and board of directors in the same room, was quite impressive to me. Knowing this is an international corporation known around the world on it's second and third generation of the Tyson family makes me take note of things being said or done. Not that I will ever be in the same league, but out of curiosity of their 'world'. There are several in attendance that I immediately recognized, Donnie King - CEO, John Randal Tyson- CFO, John Tyson - Chairman and Mike Bebee, former Arkansas Governor. I had the honor to photograph Mike Bebee and his wife in June of 2014 during an interview with Celebrate Arkansas magazine.
The more I pay attention, the more I realize, they're just like anyone else and down to earth, but with much larger responsibilities and challenges on a daily basis and put in VERY long hours.
I always enjoy working with Tyson, the associates & sales people. They're always very friendly, cheerful which makes all experiences pleasant. This event was in the Tyson on Thompson building in Springdale. The last time I was in this building was 2005 buying a play set for my kids, since it was a SAMS Club at the time. A good friend, Jacque Eakins, is one of the chaplains and works in this building, so I got the tour of the building and it's gym, dining area and MANY cubicles.
Hope you enjoy a behind the scenes of the meeting which lasted less than 30 minutes.
