This architectural photography project covered for a LONG day but was worth it. First Western Bank in Fort Smith Arkansas has gotten a major upgrade. Going from a store front in a strip center to now a very impressive building off Massard Rd, the building features gorgeous prints of the area in the spacious lobby, chandelier in the entry, large board room and glass flex spaces.
This day started off questionable to say the least with heavy cloud cover on the way to Fort Smith, this had me concerned because the sun would give a much better feel to the building. When I got there, it was still cloudy, but I continued inside with the images there. Within thirty minutes, the clouds parted and the sun came out, in fact it was hot! I raced outside, not knowing how long it would be clear and got the images I needed. I finished up inside just after lunch and went on to another project to photograph that lasted until 4pm so I had until 7:40 to kill time for the twilight photos. You may be asking, why didn't I just go later in the day to get everything, well, the front of the building faced east so morning exteriors would look best, (fyi - twilight is good at any time- mostly because I can't turn the building :) ) I made good use of some of that time at Texas Roadhouse. On my next project out of town, i'll be looking for a coffee house with a comfy sofa.
Those involved in the building are: architect JKJ Architects in downtown Rogers, Turnkey Construction in Bentonville/Fort Smith and furnishings by Innerplan. See more of our Architectural Images in our Gallery.
