My first introduction to Walk On's was in March 2020 when I photographed the VIP reception for the first Walk Ons in NW Arkansas in Rogers to a huge crowd. As you know, three weeks later it had to temporarily shut down but opened for take out service ASAP. It quickly became one of my favorite restaurants with a varied menu, my favorites are any hamburger, the Adult Grilled Cheese and the Donut Bread Pudding (with Krispy Kreme donuts) YUMMM!
When restaurant construction is completed, they are, obviously eager to get in, set up, staff trained and open. For this photoshoot, they had already opened so photography was a bit more challenging. I came in one morning before they opened at 11am to get the interior and came back another evening for the twilight and the patio. The manager was kind enough to block off the patio and parking in front. Thanks to my great client Boen Kemp Construction for this architecture photography project.
If you're in the area in either Rogers or Fayetteville, give it a try, I have a feeling you'll love it. Each Walk On's has a wall with wall paper featuring local college walk on's, thus the name of the restaurant. This restaurant has convenient location for easy access just off the interstate and down the road from the University of Arkansas. I have no doubt you will enjoy the food, their burgers are great, my favorite is the adult grilled cheese and the desert has got to be the doughnut bread pudding, made with krispi kreme donuts with icing and whip cream on top... anyone else getting hungry or is it just me?
During the architecture photography, I emphasize the features of the facility that the contractor wants to showcase. This includes the host station, eating areas, bar and kitchen. The exterior is always captured during daylight and at twilight. Twilight is my favorite, it always makes the building shine with accent lighting and signage.
